Spending time at Cipla has been an eye opener towards integration of palliative care into social life. Cipla centre is a good model of palliative care and the relation between a corporate entity and society through provision of service that gives a good quality of life at no cost to the beneficiaries is commendable.

We were skeptical when we came here as we had not so good experiences of other hospitals. But when we came here we were taught how to live with a cancer patient. This will help while dealing with the patient.

I and the patient have learnt many different things here. The meditation, handicraft and entertainment programmes have helped us to divert our minds and do something more meaningful.

I was very well looked after by the doctors and nurses. But what was surprising is that my husband was also made comfortable. I was filled with joy when the festivals were celebrated in the centre. I got a “rakhi brother” on Raksha Bandhan day.

Our heartfelt compliments to Cipla for starting this really noble institute where palliative care "in the real sense" is being delivered by health care professionals who are so dedicated and committed to their job. It is high time that we give due importance to this neglected subject of palliative care (medicine). All health care professionals especially oncology specialists must visit this place so that we can provide comprehensive management to these patients making their lives more comfortable and meaningful.
